Key Speakers

Kamran Hayel-Moghadam, MD
Dr. Hayel-Moghadam is Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Associate Program Director for the Addiction Medicine Fellowship at ETSU. He practices as a psychiatrist in home based primary care and specializes in the areas of psychiatry, neurology and addiction medicine. He is Board Certified by ABPN and ABPM.

Joyce Troxler, MD
Dr. Troxler is Associate Professor, East Tennessee State University Department of Family Medicine and Program Director for Addiction Medicine Fellowship Lead faculty/facilitator for ETSU I AM ECHO (Integrated Addiction Medicine Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes) and Co-PI Contingency Management Research with a RDC Grant from ETSU to collect data related to implementation of a contingency management intervention for patients with current use of stimulants. This is a collaborative endeavor including two other departments/colleges within ETSU, Department of Psychology and College of Public Health. She received her MD from ETSU and is an active member of several professional organizations, serving in many leadership roles. 


Sara (Mina) McVeigh, LCSW

Ms. McVeigh is an addiction behavioral health specialist with ETSU Family Medicine Associates. She received her Master of Social Work at ETSU. She uses evidence-based treatments from a bio-psycho-social perspective to assist patients in meeting their goals and has specialized training in the areas of trauma and substance abuse and a track record of developing successful outreach programs and workshops in the area of wellness.


Joseph Tucciarone, PhD
Dr. Tucciarone is a Postdoctoral Fellow and Behavioral Health Consultant with East Tennessee State University Family Medicine Associates, Johnson City, TN. He holds a Masters of Public Health and Clinical Psychology and a PhD in Clinical Psychology from ETSU. 


Veronica Vann-Ray, CPRS, BSW
Ms. Vann-Ray is a Case Manager/Certified Peer Recovery Specialist Coordinator with ETSU Family Medicine/Addiction Medicine. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Social Work and has participated in many community and recovery-focused activities.

Schuyler Geller, MD, MPH
Dr. Geller is Clinical Assistant Professor and Addiction Medicine Fellowship Core Faculty in the Department of Family Medicine at ETSU. He is also Adjunct Assistant Professor Division of Global Health of the Department of Preventive Medicine and Biostatistics. Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland. He received his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine and had been in practice prior to joining ETSU.

 

Tonya Milam, CMA
Ms. Milam is a Patient Care Specialist working with Addiction Medicine Fellowship at ETSU. She is an experienced Certified Medical Assistant skilled in clinical and administrative office procedures and holds a Bachelor of Science focused in Allied Health and Developmental Psychology from East Tennessee State University.

 

Ryan Tewell, Pharm D
Dr. Tewell is Clinical Assistant Professor/Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in the ETSU Bill Gatton College of Pharmacy and ETSU Department of Family Medicine and Medical Director, ETSU Family Medicine in Johnson City. He received his Doctor of Pharmacy from Butler University, College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. He is an active member on several committees within the College of Pharmacy and Department of Family Medicine and has several publications and presentations to his credit.

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the Quillen College of Medicine, East Tennessee State University. Quillen College of Medicine, East Tennessee State University, is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

 

CME Credit: Quillen College of Medicine, East Tennessee State University, designates this activity for a maximum of 1.5 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM . Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Nursing Credit: Up to 1.50 (1.50CH) continuing nursing education hours have been approved for this session of the program. East Tennessee State University College of Nursing is approved as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the North Carolina Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.

Pharmacy Credit: Pharmacists will have access to 1.50 ACPE Credits accredited by The Tennessee Pharmacists Consortium for Education (TPCE) for Tuesday, October 4, 2022. TPCE is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) as a provider of continuing pharmacy education (0575-0000-22-119-L01-P), to those who participate in all sessions and complete the online activities required to claim credit. A participant code will be made available at the completion of the day for submission of ACPE credits. 

 

APA Credit: Frontier Health is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. Frontier Health maintains responsibility for this program and its content. The participants will receive 1.5 hours of credit for each session. A total of 1.5 credits are available. Full attendance is required.

Participants are likely to have an intermediate level of understanding of the interprofessional care team model.  The session content is intended to be introductory in terms of the description of the roles of addiction medicine professionals may have in a primary care setting. 

  

Social Work Credit: In order to claim NASW credits, the attendee will be provided an attendance certificate to submit to NASW along with a copy of the activity syllabus.


Nutrition Credit: In order to claim Nutrition credits, participants should retain documentation of their course attendance/participation for meeting their professional development requirements.

TN EMS Credit: Approved by the TN Office of EMS for Continuing Education Hours for a total of 1.5 CEUs.

VA EMS Credit: Approved by the VA Office of EMS for Continuing Education Hours for a total of 1.5 CEUs.
