Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Describe self-neglect signs and observation with the patient with cognitive impairment and review legal interventions to ensure patient safety.
  2. Explain and apply compensation strategies for individuals with Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI), including the use of external aids, behavioral routines, and environmental modifications to support daily functioning and cognitive management.
  3. Describe newer diagnostic tools including blood test to detect biomarkers for early detection and imaging technology.

 Quillen College of Medicine, East Tennessee State University, designates this activity for a maximum of 12.0 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM . Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Ballad Health is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. This activity has been approved for 12.0 CNE's.

APA Credits: Frontier Health is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. Frontier Health maintains responsibility for this program and its content. The participants will receive 6.0 hours of credit for each day attended. A total of 12.0 hours of credit are available for both days. Full attendance at each session is required.
