Robin Foreman, PhD, RN, PMH-BC, CNE, CNEcl, PLNC
Dr. Robin Foreman is an assistant professor for the East Tennessee State University (ETSU) College of Nursing in Johnson City, TN. Dr. Foreman earned her PhD in nursing from ETSU with a focus on nursing education and her Master of Science Nursing (Nurse Educator) from King University. Dr. Foreman has over 30 years’ nursing experience working in various areas, such as medical/surgical, behavioral health, and school nursing. She has shared her expertise on incivility to multiple local, national, and international organizations over the past ten years with her most recent article "Cognitive Rehearsal: Teaching Nursing Students to Address Incivility in the Clinical Setting" being published in the Nurse Educator.

Participants are likely to have an introductory level of understanding of microaggressions and how they impact interprofessional team-based communication.

  2. Describe Cognitive Rehearsal.
  3. Utilize Cognitive Rehearsal techniques when encountering Health Care Worker Incivility.

Accreditation

ACCME Accreditation: Quillen College of Medicine, East Tennessee State University, is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

CME Credit: Quillen College of Medicine, East Tennessee State University, designates this activity for a maximum of 2.00 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM . Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Nursing Credit: Up to 2.0 continuing education credits can be claimed by using the non-physician credit statement. This can be accepted for both Tennessee and Virginia nurses.

Occupational Therapy Credit: Approved by Occupational Therapy for Continuing Education Hours for a total of 2.0 contact hours or 0.2 CEUs. 

Physical Therapy Credit: Approved by Physical Therapy for Continuing Education Hours for a total of 2.0 contact hours or 0.2 CEUs. 

Audiology / SLP Credit: To claim audiology / SLP credit, the attendee will be provided an attendance certificate to submit to ASHA along with a copy of the activity syllabus.

TN EMS: Credit This program is approved for up to 2.0 hours of preparatory CEU for EMS personnel in Tennessee.

Social Work Credit: In order to claim NASW credits, the attendee will be provided an attendance certificate to submit to NASW along with a copy of the activity syllabus.0

Dietician Credit: In order to claim Dietary credits, participants should retain documentation of their course attendance/participation for meeting their professional development requirements.

Pharmacy Credit: Pharmacists will have access to 2.00 ACPE Credits accredited by The Tennessee Pharmacists Consortium for Education (TPCE) for Thursday, October 17, 2024. TPCE is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) as a provider of continuing pharmacy education (0575-0000-24-154-L04-P), to those who participate in all sessions and complete the online activities required to claim credit. A participant code will be made available at the completion of the day for submission of ACPE credits.

APA Credit/Co-Sponsorship Statement: Frontier Health is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. Frontier Health maintains responsibility for this program and its content. A total of 2.0 hrs. of credit are available. Participants will receive 2.0 hrs. credit for their attendance. Full attendance is required. Partial credit may not be awarded per APA guidelines.
