Preventive Care Updates for Primary Care Professional

Content in this Online Course was originally presented at the 27th Annual Louis A. Cancellaro Primary Care Conference - April 1-4, 2024. Presentations in this module focus on preventive strategies providers can utilize to improve outcomes of patients in a primary care setting, including:

• Weight management
• Functional nutrition
• Exercise guidelines to manage chronic conditions such as COPD and Asthma
• Colon cancer screening and prevention
• Vaccine recommendations
• Prognostication
• Mental health resources for families in crisis

 

AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ (6.50 hours), Non-Physician Attendance (6.50 hours)

1. Identify and apply current evidence-based guidelines for the prevention, screening, and management of conditions such as colon cancer, heart failure, and asthma
2. Identify resources in the community for families in crisis and how describe how to connect patients with behavioral health treatment and resources
3. Describe the latest immunization schedules and best practices for increasing vaccination rates among children, adults, and high-risk populations
4. Identify strategies to counsel paitnets on effective lifestyle changes including nutrition, weight management, and physical activity to improve overall health and prevent chronic diseases
