Due to Covid-19 all of our speakers will be speaking virtually to the on-line audience. We will have the large auditorium in Stanton Gerber on the ETSU Quillen College of Medicine campus available for anyone who wants to get together with other learners and better interact in a group setting while listening to the virtual presentations.

AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ (30.00 hours), ANCC Contact Hour(s) (30.00 hours), Non-Physician Attendance (30.00 hours), Pharmacology (7.00 hours)

1. Utilize guidelines for diagnosing anemia in children and adults in terms of available testing.
2. Explain the incidence and prevalence of anxiety and depression.
3. Identify alternative treatments for anxiety and depression.
4. Identify appropriate treatments for diabetic patient.
5. State the epidemiology of obesity in America and the health risks associated with obesity.
6. Assess patients who are obese and determine that they are in need of treatment.
7. Apply the current JNC recommendations for the treatment of hypertension.
8. Develop a rational approach to choosing medication for treating hypertension.
9. Describe strategies for approaching team-based care.
10. Discuss updates on management of Covid-19 patients.
11. Briefly review definition, etiology and complications of chronic kidney disease.
12. Discuss KDIGO guidelines to management of diabetes and chronic kidney disease.

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the Quillen College of Medicine, East Tennessee State University. East Tennessee State University College of Nursing is approved as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the North Carolina Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation. Total hours for all four days: 30.0 continuing nursing education contact hours for those that attend all workshops (30.0 CH which may include 7.0 nursing pharmacology hours); 26 hours for those that don't attend any of the workshops (26 CH which may include 7.0 nursing pharmacology hours).

 

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations received in writing no less than 20 days before the course will be refunded, less a 20% administrative fee. No refunds will be made on cancellations received after that date. Please send cancellation requests to East Tennessee State [email protected].
