Specialty Topics for the Primary Care Professional

Content in this Online Course was originally presented at the 27th Annual Louis A. Cancellaro Primary Care Conference - April 1-4, 2024. Presentations in this module focus on specialty topics relevant to the practice of primary care. Topics include: 

• Skin punch biopsy for neuromuscular disease
• Pulmonary nodules
• Renal function
• Influence of Ai on healthcare
• Interpreting electrodiagnostic testing
• Music therapy in behavioral health
• Age friendly care

 

AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ (5.50 hours), Non-Physician Attendance (5.50 hours)

1. Discuss specialty topics relevant to the practice of primary care
2. Describe techniques available for the workup of pulmonary nodules and understand the workup of a newly found pulmonary nodule
3. Interpret kidney function as it relates to patient age and physical status, describe the risk factors for progression of kidney disease and identify the essential steps to mitigate risk factors for progressive chronic kidney disease
4. Recognize ethics and equity issues with regard to the use of artificial intelligence in healthcare and identify AI tools, how they are developed, and how they are implemented
5. Describe music therapy and identify patients appropriate for music therapy
