The 38th Annual Alzheimer's Disease Management and Research Symposium will discuss topics such as the diagnosis and management of Alzheimer's disease and related dementias, as well as pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment options, symptom management, the latest advancements in disease and treatment research, and strategies to assist families in providing care.

ACCME Objectives
  1. Identify signs and symptoms of Alzheimer's disease and related dementias used to make a differential diagnosis, and learn of the genetic risks and gene mutations in dementia.
  2. Discuss current research trends in the diagnosis and treatment of Alzheimer's disease and related dementias, both pharmaceutical and non pharmaceutical treatment options, and therapeutic breakthroughs in neurodegenerative disease treatment.
  3. Analyze current evidence on how hearing loss accelerates cognitive decline and its potential role in the development and progression of dementia.
  4. Improve communication techniques to better engage with patients and their families about dementia diagnosis, prognosis, and care options.

  1. Develop the skills to distinguish between various forms of dementia, through understanding their distinct clinical features, diagnostic criteria, and progression patterns.
  2. Create and implement individualized management plans that address both cognitive and non-cognitive symptoms of dementia.
  3. Analyze current evidence on how hearing loss accelerates cognitive decline and its potential role in the development and progression of dementia.
