The Dr. Dillard M Sholes, Jr. and Mrs. Mattie E. Sholes Distinguished Lectureship will provide a regionally known physician to lecture on obstetrics and gynecology to physicians and health care professionals in our area.

The speaker: Dr. Robert Elder has retired from clinical practice and now serves as the Chief Physician Executive and Medical Director of this Physicians Association. Dr. Elder did his OB/GYN rotation with Dr. Sholes as Chair and clinical attending.

AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ (1.00 hours), ANCC Contact Hour(s) (1.00 hours)

1. Recognize how consumerism in healthcare can negatively and positively affect clinicians and their office.
2. Understand shared health needs of patient experiences, consumerism in healthcare and engagement of the healthcare team.
3. Design a comprehensive solution to improving health outcomes for the patient and healthcare team.
4. Integrate learning/engagement teams.
5. Assess the patient view on received care and patient reported experience.
6. Define consumerism and how it has/will change healthcare.
