Overview

The Tennessee Sex Offender Treatment Board, housed administratively with the Tennessee Department of Correction, has been providing specialized training to mental health providers specific to the area of sex offender treatment for over twenty five years. Courses offered during this annual conference include: Sex Offender Risk Evaluation Training, Ethics Training, Risk Assessment Training, and Trauma Focused Treatment for Sex Offenders. The conference is open to anyone who wishes to attend and is mandatory for all approved evaluators and approved providers.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Identify the requirements of a psychosexual evaluation and its purpose within the judicial system.
  2. Describe how adherence to TSOTB's standards and guidelines impact services provided in the community.

Registration

Registration is open. There will be no registration fee to attend this conference; however, pre-registration is required. 

NOTE:  Thursday  (Evaluation Training) and all day Friday is mandatory for all Approved Evaluators. Friday all day is required for all Approved Providers. Anyone wishing to become a New Provider must attend the entire week. 

Instructional level is introductory for the new provider portion of the conference and introductory/intermediate for the evaluator portion and intermediate for the current provider session of the conference.


Accreditation
This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of Quillen College of Medicine and Tennessee Department of Correction. The Quillen College of Medicine is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

 

Quillen College of Medicine, East Tennessee State University, designates this activity for a maximum of 32.0 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM (19.5 CEU's for new provider training; 6.25 CEU's for evaluator training; and 6.25 CEU's for current provider training).   Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

APA Credits: Frontier Health is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. Frontier Health maintains responsibility for this program and its content. The participants will receive 19.5 hours of credit for new provider training; 6.25 hours for evaluator training; and 6.25 hours for current provider training. A total of 32.0 credits are available. Full attendance at each session is required.
