2023 Southeast Regional Spine Symposium

Leaders from the CHI Memorial Stroke and Neuroscience Center and Center for Sports Medicine and Orthopaedics will address the latest recommendations in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of common spine disorders and diseases. The symposium will be hosted as a hybrid, with options to attend in-person or virtually.

AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ (4.50 hours), ANCC Contact Hour(s) (4.58 hours), Non-Physician Attendance (4.50 hours), Pharmacology (1.00 hours)

1. Examine basic spine anatomy and describe common spine disorders and diseases.
2. Identify and describe key elements of the spinal exam to effectively screen for common and serious spinal disorders.
3. Describe diagnosis, evidence-based treatment, and management of cervical myelopathy and metastatic spine disease.
4. Discuss the treatment options for low back pain, both non-invasive and invasive.
5. Review and discuss motion preservation surgery.
6. Examine and discuss effective pain management strategies for patients with spine-related pain.

Advanced Practice Clinicians (NP, PA): $70
Allied Health Professionals (RN, EMS, PT, etc.): $35

Nursing Education Hours
Up to 4.58 (4.58 CH which includes 1.0 pharmacy contact hour) continuing nursing education hours have been approved for this session of the
program. East Tennessee State University College of Nursing is approved as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the North
Carolina Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

 

Pharmacy Credit 

 Pharmacists will have access to 4.25 ACPE Credits accredited by the Tennessee Pharmacists Consortium for Education (TPCE) for Saturday, April 15, 2023. TPCE is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) as a provider of continuing education (0575-0000-23-055-L01-P), to those who participate in all sessions and complete the online activities required to claim credit. A participant code will be made available at the completion of the day for submission of ACPE credits.

 

Physical Therapy Credit

This activity is approved for PT CEU Credit.

 

Social Work Credit
In order to claim NASW credits, the attendee will be provided an attendance certificate to submit to NASW along with a copy of the activity syllabus.

Nutrition Credit
In order to claim Nutrition credits, participants should retain documentation of their course attendance/participation for meeting their professional
development requirements.

Additional Credits
Additional credits are being sought and will be updated as available.

Please note: AMA PRA Category 1 Credits TM are accepted for reciprocal credit by several professions including respiratory therapists, sports medicine, and medical sonographers
