Overview

Registration Is Open!

This conference will spark resilience among participants through educational and motivational activities. Conference sessions will be led by experts who will inform and inspire attendees through presentations, panel discussions, and networking opportunities. On the first day participants will: learn about the NE TN veteran population and the problems surrounding substance use disorder; learn about the power of community coalitions and the vision of a recovery ecosystem; and will also explore governmental approaches and the role of faith-affiliated programs in addressing the epidemic. On the second day, participants will: learn more about the INSPIRE program and the approaches and special considerations for veteran employment; learn about the impact of justice involvement for veterans with SUD; and engage with stories of recovery and inspiration through Earth Science Research Institute (ESRI) Story Maps software. This interactive conference will also employ mobile Mentimeter technology for participants to provide feedback, create word clouds, answer polls, and much more.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Participants will be able to evaluate the impact of SUD on the veteran population in NE TN and the vision for recovery ecosystems.
  2. Participants will be able to interpret the roles of community and governmental programs in a recovery ecosystem.

Quillen College of Medicine, East Tennessee State University, is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

 

Quillen College of Medicine, East Tennessee State University, designates this activity for a maximum of 12 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM . Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

East Tennessee State University College of Nursing is approved as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the North Carolina Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. Total hours for both days: 12.17 continuing nursing education contact hours (CH). The College of Nursing charges a $15 fee for nursing contact hours.
