Overview

This 1 hour and 15 minute training video covers foundational information about how adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and traumatic events can impact one's academic, social, physical, and mental well-being, particularly as relevant for higher educational learning environments. An evidence-based model of promoting resilience in ourselves, our colleagues, and our classrooms is offered to provide tangible ways that one can help mitigate the impact of ACEs and trauma in higher educational settings.

Objectives
As a result of participating in this activity, the participant will be able to……

  1. Understand the relevance of adverse childhood experiences on educational outcomes
  2. Identify ways to promote resilience in higher education settings
  3. Apply a resilience-based relational framework to increase confidence and competence when working with individuals with a history of adversity or trauma
