Precepting Medical Students - Topic 5: Learners Experiencing Difficulty

This is the fifth topic in a series of educational sessions, focusing on Learners Experiencing Difficulty. This series is designed for both ETSU employed faculty members and our volunteer community preceptors on teaching medical students in the clinical/community setting. The four sessions in the series cover an introduction to medical student precepting, how medical students learn in clinical settings, providing feedback, and providing evaluations.

AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ (0.50 hours), Non-Physician Attendance (0.50 hours)

1. The preceptor will be able to recognize students experiencing difficulty with learning and communication
2. The preceptor will identify areas of student difficulty using the HEART acronym
3. The preceptor will learn how to give specific feedback to students experiencing difficulty
4. The preceptor will learn how to share concerns about students in difficulty with College of Medicine faculty

 

Quillen College of Medicine, East Tennessee State University, designates this activity for a maximum of 0.50 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits^TM . Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Cancellation Policy
