Dr. Justin Grant Wilkes is a dedicated Complex General Surgical Oncologist with CHI Memorial Surgical Associates and serves as the Dyad Physician Leader of Oncology Services at Rees Skillern Cancer Center in Chattanooga, TN. Dr. Wilkes brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his role, embodying a patient-centered approach and a commitment to excellence in cancer care.

A graduate of The University of Iowa College of Medicine, Dr. Wilkes completed his general surgery residency at Maine Medical Center in Portland, ME. During residency, he pursued a T32 research fellowship with a focus on free radical and radiation biology, investigating the potential of high-dose vitamin C in pancreatic cancer treatment.

Dr. Wilkes further honed his skills and expertise through a Complex General Surgical Oncology Fellowship at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, FL, graduating in 2021. He is proud to be the only board-certified Complex General Surgical Oncologist (CGSO) in Chattanooga.

Specializing in a wide range of cancers including GI cancers (Upper GI, Colorectal, Hepatobiliary, and Pancreatic), Cutaneous Cancers (Melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancers), Endocrine (Adrenal), and Soft Tissue Sarcoma, Dr. Wilkes brings a comprehensive and personalized approach to patient care.

With a special interest in minimally invasive and robotic surgery for GI cancers, Dr. Wilkes is committed to utilizing the latest advancements in surgical techniques to optimize patient outcomes and improve quality of life.
