Dr. Agnes Costello is a board certified Adult and Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist at Central Dupage Hospital in Winfield , Illinois. She completed her adult residency at Loyola University Medical Center in Mayfield, IL and she went on to do a child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at Ann and Robert Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago, IL. While at Lurie Children’s, she served as chief fellow for the program and was recruited to stay on as a junior attending. Her early career as a child psychiatrist was focused on consult liaison work with various pediatric sub specialities and the pediatric emergency room. She was also a clinical instructor for medical students and adult psychiatry residents at the Northwestern University Feinburg School of Medicine. She has a yearly lecture series with residents in training around Asian American Mental Health and Cultural competencies of care for Filipino families.
She has spent the last 9 years at Northwestern Medicine at Central Dupage Hospital isn’t he western suburbs of Chicago. She is primarily an outpatient child and adolescent psychiatrist who specializes in the treatment of ADHD and Anxiety Disorders , but has served at all levels of care, including as acting medical director of the hospital’s 16 bed inpatient Child and Adolescent Unit.
She has an active interest in addressing stigma around ADHD treatment and improving access to quality mental health care in this area and combines both advocacies through her moderation of the 3500plus member strong Facebook group, Physician Mothers Supporting ADHD treatment.
